Everyone knows Amsterdam Airport Schiphol simply as ‘Schiphol’. It’s the prime international airport in the Netherlands, but also one of the most bustling airfields in Europe. With almost 72 million passengers in 2019, it was the third-busiest on the continent in terms of passenger volume, and even the busiest in terms of aircraft movement. With 1.74 million, its annual tonnage is fourth in line.
Not only does this lively activity pose its challenges, but the airport is also developed as a single-terminal concept. With one large terminal splitting into three extensive departure halls, Schiphol needs very distinct fire safety plans.

We have been the principal fire safety consultant to Schiphol since 2005. What we have always done in these 15 years, we keep on perfecting until today. We regularly conduct a fire safety study of the entire terminal complex, with a second opinion of the on-site prevention advisor.
