Qatalum Plant – Linking Qatar to Norway

The Qatalum plant is a joint venture between Qatar Petroleum (QP) and Hydro Aluminum of Norway. The Qatalum aluminum plant is located in the Mesaieed Industrial City area, South of Doha and has a production capacity of 585.000 MT per year, both for foundry alloy and extrusion ingots. The plant consists of a reduction, cast house, carbon, and power plant.

How FPC Risk ensures fire safety on a multi-faceted aluminum plant

Our engineers check and verify if the existing provisions and installations still comply with the NFPA and Qatar Civil Defence requirements. They consider the number of modifications needed and deal with any existing structures that lack the required systems.

Furthermore, FPC Risk determines whether the current fire detection installations and locations, as well as the suppression devices, are sufficiently accessible for maintenance activities.
